Process-based science–art residency
Three Space Tokyo
2–26 February 2026
Exhibition: 27 Feb – 3 Mar
We invite 2 Artists and 1 Curator / Process Curator to join a residency exploring how artistic practice and scientific thinking shape one another.
Independently organised by Three Space Tokyo, with the kind, personal cooperation of Professor Tom Melia, a theoretical physicist affiliated with the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), The University of Tokyo, the residency focuses on process, observation, and creative response.
Participants will work in a shared studio environment and take part in two pre-arranged, non-public meetings at Kavli IPMU in Kashiwa, organised personally by the cooperating researcher. The residency concludes with a public, process-based exhibition.

Three Space Tokyoでは、アーティスト2名およびキュレーター／プロセス・キュレーター1名を募集します。本レジデンシーでは、芸術実践と科学的思考がどのように相互に影響し合い、形づくられていくのかを探求します。
本レジデンシーは Three Space Tokyo により企画・運営され、東京大学カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構（Kavli IPMU）に所属する理論物理学者 トム・メリア教授の個人的かつ善意による協力のもと実施されます。本企画は、プロセス、観察、創造的な応答に焦点を当てています。
参加者はスタジオ環境を共有しながら活動に取り組み、柏にある Kavli IPMU でのミーティング2回に参加します。(非公式かつ、協力研究者により事前調整済み) レジデンシーは、一般公開のプロセスベースの展覧会で締めくくられます。

THREE SPACE TOKYO
Welcome to Three Space Tokyo, an artist-run gallery for creating and connecting. Founded by designer Ying Chang, fine artist Aya Ogasawara, and computational cosmologist Jia Liu, the gallery brings together international artists and designers in Tokyo and connects them with the Japanese community. Our exhibitions highlight contemporary art, while residencies, performances, and events foster dialogue across disciplines and cultures. For collaborations, please get in touch.
Three Space Tokyo へようこそ。創造とつながりのためのアーティスト・ラン・ギャラリーです。デザイナーのイン・チャン（Ying Chang）、ファインアートペインターの小笠原彩（Aya Ogasawara）、そして宇宙物理学者のリュウ・ジア（Jia Liu）によって設立されました。国際的なアーティストやデザイナーを東京に迎え、日本のコミュニティとつなげることを目指しています。展示では現代美術を取り上げ、またレジデンシー、パフォーマンス、イベントを通して、分野や文化を越えた対話を育んでいます。コラボレーションにご関心のある方は、ぜひご連絡ください。
